We’re carbon-conscious, and we’re always looking for new ways to maximise vehicle loads to cut fuel usage and reduce our carbon footprint. By streamlining our ordering system, we’re able to keep our lorries delivering in defined areas, ensuring they aren’t making unnecessarily long journeys to and from their destinations.
Beyond this, we regularly update our vehicles to ensure our whole fleet is in line with the latest European emission standards. This has helped us achieve a silver accreditation with the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS). We’re also long-term advocates of the Carbon Disclosure Project, a charity encouraging businesses to measure, publish and manage their CO2 emissions.
Waste management is one of the biggest challenges facing construction and its related industries.
We implement our own waste management strategy, segregating waste and preventing re-usable materials from going to landfill. We recycle our oil, our filters and our batteries, and for all non-recyclable waste, we use a certified waste carrier company, who dispose of it responsibly.
Currently, 87% of our waste is diverted from landfill. We’re working to get this up to 100% in the next five years.
